In 2016/17 the centre underwent significant facade and landscape upgrade including community plaza, water feature, community garden, chess board. Fjmt was engaged to develop the concept, submit for DA, manage construction
Inspiration: Mill Stores, textiles, VICARS family, Vicars Woollen Mill
The hardscape design and signage strategy pays homage to the original Indigenous inhabitants, the textile industry, the wool process and the immigrants and families who built and shaped the textile industry for which Marrickville became famous
The external area is an engaging space that is well used by the community
