Project Details
Cliffbrook House - is a state-of-the-art executive residential retreat and teaching/learning facility for the AGSM of the University of NSW (UNSW) The site, located in Coogee, adjacent to Gordons Bay includes Cliffbrook House, a 1920's State heritage listed property.
Inspiration: The design of the faulty and external spaces is inspired by the surrounding rocky and sandstone escarpment of the surrounding cliffs and ridges.
The form of the building emulates the flowing contours and movement of the local landform, with ribbons of vegetation on the sweeping podium edge inspired by shale lenses in the bedrock forms.
The landscape design encompasses custom entry gates and upgraded driveway configuration, new external lower terrace, retaining wall with acoustic screening and feature sandstone cladding design, external shower, foreshore walk with light weight decking/ stair structure and future connection to the Bondi to Bronte coastal walkway.
